SERVICE - located near the border of the lower east side and east village - large interior with plenty of seating for small or big groups - ambience felt like I was in a club with pop music and dim lighting - servers are attentive and welcoming - food served quickly after ordering - restroom located downstairs MENU - vegan Szechuan food - gluten free options - average price ($20 per person) FOOD - crabless rangoon (6/10): five crispy wontons filled with almond cream cheese and served with a side of guava sauce. This is listed as a share dish yet priced the same as an entree. It does make a good appetizer to split between a few people. The rangoon itself is not super interesting as it just tastes like cream cheese and crispy wrapper. The highlight was the guava sauce as it was slightly sweet and tart. - kung pao (8/10): fried tofu and vegetables coated in a sweet and sour sauce. This dish made a good entree when served with rice. The taste of the sauce is exactly what you would expect from Chinese food with the umami from soy sauce paired with a slight sweetness. The vegetables seemed to be in little dumplings so it was hard to distinguish which one was which. Also be careful of the whole pieces of chili pepper mixed in. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! I would recommend going in a group and doing family style.

I came here with a group of five. They required the full party to arrive before seating us. The decor had an art deco feel to it. Low lighting with hot pink light bulbs that cast everything in a magenta haze. Green velvet booths. Patterned wall paper. This is a great place to go with a group and dine family style, which is exactly what we did. The steamed vegetable dumplings were okay, but a little dry. The crispy eggplant was deeply batter fried and barely tasted like eggplant, in a good way. The accompanying sauce had a touch of sweetness. The string beans were fantastic. They were loaded with chili sauce and very flavorful. The salt and pepper style was tasty, however it was hard to distinguish the ingredients because of the very thick fried batter. The dry pot style was deliciously spicy. My absolute favorite dish was the dan dan noodles, which were coated with a mouth-watering, rich sauce and heaped with mushroom bits to mix in. Service was impressively fast. This location is much larger than the one in East Village. Definitely a must-try, even for meat eaters!

it has a super cute and modern decor and makes you forget it's a vegan spot with their super flavorful and spicy flair. every dish i tried here is a winner. The service was good also. what we ordered: Crispy taro fries $12.95 Scallion pancake $8.50 Dan dan noodle $16.95 General tso style $23.95 + $4 vegan chicken the taro fries are amazingly crunchy, sweet and spicy! Has bell peppers too for soft crunch and sweetness. the scallion pancakes that i got for free through inKind's august free perks were soft and nicely layered! there's a sweet dipping sauce on the side! Dan dan noodles were such a homey dish, delicious with the sauce and scallions and the portion is really big! i really looooved how crispy the General tso style vegan chicken was. It's hard to tell that the chicken isn't real meat. And the sauce is really good too with a little spicy kick! would def get again!

Took my vegetarian parents here and they were so impressed. The interior is spacious so we were seated quickly even on a Sunday afternoon. Service was nice but a little understaffed. We got the veggies dumplings, mapo tofu and dan dan noodles. The mapo tofu was pretty spicy but with a side of rice, it was amazing. Everything on this menu seemed like a hit. Will definitely be back to try more!
